The most important feature I implemented on my website and why.
I actually believe the most important feature of this website is the GeneratePress theme that I chose. After learning about the importance of web accessibility, I have tried to keep easy-use in mind for all sorts of people that might view any of my projects in this class, other classes, or anything I might create in the future. I researched a lot of different themes this week and nothing seemed to have all the capabilities that GeneratePress has, nor focus on accessibility as a main drive in their respective themes’ creations. GeneratePress stood out to me in that aspect.
In their theme description, the creators mention having a heavy focus on accessibility with their creation and their words matched the functionality. I played around by dragging the window to all different widths and lengths and was so impressed by my theme’s ingenuity in how it changed (e.g. the navigation menu changes to a dropdown for smaller screens). This adaptability not only will help my site’s users but also me; when I go to change layouts, make posts or pages, etc., I know my theme will be working in tandem with me this time around.
